• Greetings,

I am new to WordPress and have inherited a church website that has been updated little in the last 4 years. It is using a premium theme called ChurchHope.

I wanted to put a button on the website so individuals could make their donations online but noticed the website was not secure. So I installed the “Really Simple SSL” plugin. After that, when clicking on the “Customization” button on the theme I received the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_plugin_data() (previously declared in /home/olneynaz/public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:68) in /home/olneynaz/public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php on line 113

I do not know if the 2 are related or not–as I said, I inherited this site and its possible the customization error could have been there before the plugin. I’m not sure because I had never tried to customize the site before.

I have removed the plugin and I am still receiving the error message. I do not have the ability to reinstall the premium theme because no one at the church has any purchase details of the theme. I am willing to purchase the theme again if that will solve the issue but didn’t want to drop $50 without getting some advice from someone who knows more about WordPress than I do

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,
From what I see, this error could be related to the theme that you are using.

I would suggest that you email the theme designer about this and asked if the latest version of the theme is able to resolve this issue. If the answer is yes, then you can go ahead to buy it then update your theme.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

I did narrow it down to the “Really Simple SSL” plugin. If I disable the plugin then the customization works as expected.

Thanks again for taking a look.

    Jeff
