After update to the most recent version of Raindrops template all my sites show the error like this:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /data/web/virtuals/124470/virtual/www/domains/skkp-karate.cz/wp-content/themes/raindrops/functions.php on line 9845
I cannot acces the administration. How to fix it?

  • I hope they reply soon, my site shows the same kind of thing. “Can’t use function return value in write context in /home2/vjmaheu/public_html/wp-content/themes/raindrops/functions.php on line 9845”

    Hi @john_graver

    Sorry

Since Raindrops is made to work with PHP 5.3 or higher, it is obviously a theme bug.

This is a problem that occurs in environments using older PHP versions less than version 5.5.

The easiest and good way to solve this problem is to change the PHP version of the server to 5.5 or higher (PHP 7.0 if possible) to solve the problem.

However, this is a bug with obvious theme so I updated the modified version 1.520.
(Confirmed to work properly with PHP 5.3 and PHP 5.4 for me)

If you continue to use the current version of PHP,

Once, remove raindrops holder in wp-content/themes dir

After deleting raindrops, the site will be displayed with the default theme.

You can log in to the administration screen.

    Please reinstall Raindrops theme again.

    Thank you

    Hi, Nobita,

Thanks for the hint. I have switched to php 7.0 on my hosting and the sites work all well again.
