When I tried to update the plugin, it caused a an error where the only thing that it says on the site is error on the top left of the screen.

I do have another security plugin but before the update there wasn’t a conflict with it before. When I delete the directory from the server then everything works normally.

I am working toward seeing which version is the one that I have the issue with since I haven’t been able to update for a few months because of other projects.

The other thing to note is that it is switching from a Redhat Linux server to a Cent OS. I would think that they would generally run the same since during the switch there wasn’t a problem.

here is one of the warnings:
[Mon May 16 17:26:56 2016] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Call to private ITSEC_Core::__construct() from invalid context in /wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/better-wp-security.php on line 28

Let me know if there is anything else that you would need to know about the problem.

  • Hi jamkddr,

Are you saying that after updating Wordfence you started experiencing this error? Could you tell if the update finished successfully? Are you getting this error throughout the site including the WordPress Dashboard?

There are currently no known conflicts between Wordfence and Better WP Security. Have you tried posting on their support forum? They may have specific information on the error that can help troubleshoot this problem.

    Let me know.
