• I logged on to wordpress and I had a notification to upgrade to the latest version of wordpress. I tried downloading it but it came up with an error and then my whole wordpress interface crashed. I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare has_shortcode() (previously declared in /home/icemar5/public_html/wp-includes/shortcodes.php:153) in /home/icemar5/public_html/wp-content/themes/raiden_1_0_2/framework/functions/functions.php on line 66

This has taken down my whole website and I get the same error when I type in my URL. I get the same error when I try to log back into wordpress. The URL is https://www.icemarine.net

    Can someone please help me?

  • Looks like a problem with your theme – you can use FTP or Cpanel to deactivate your theme by changing the name on the theme’s folder:

    wp-content
         themes
            raiden.HOLD

BTW, moving this thread out of Advanced forum.

For help with the underlying theme issue, you’ll need to ask the developer of your theme:

Commercial themes aren’t supported on these forums.

Thank you. I really don’t know how to use wordpress well and I didn’t set up the theme so I don’t understand exactly how to go about deactivating the theme. I’m assuming I’ll lose the complete layout page of my site if I deactivate it? Is there a way to just take my wordpress back to how it was before I tried updating it?

You actually need to use FTP to access your site files on the server – which is not part of WP – this should be helpful:

    Also see:

Your site will look different in a different theme, yes, but unless you have a backup of your site to restore from, there’s not another way to fix this. Also, it would likely mean reverting to an older version of WP – which is security risk – so that’s not really a good solution. Do you know if your theme was up to date? Looks like there’s a pretty recent version. And once you get that sorted, you can switch back to your theme and the settings/options for your theme should still be there.
