• The graphics with the page titles on all my pages are not displaying when browsing on the Internet. They are visible in WordPress.

I am able to restore the graphics using this time-consuming, page-by-page procedure:

    • Edit the page with Elementor
    • Select the graphic
    • Replace it with a different graphic from the media gallery
    • Update
    • Select the new graphic
    • Replace it with the original graphic from the media gallery
    • Update
    • The graphic now shows when browsing the page on the Internet. Skipping any of the steps (e.g. simply selecting the original graphic and re-updating) above doesn’t work.

This procedure is very cumbersome as I have 95 pages and my hosting provider only allows me to change about 7-10 pages per hour due to exceeding database access limits.

My question: Is there a faster way to update the pages, e.g. in some sort of bulk update? Or is there some setting that is preventing the title graphics from displaying.

    TIA

If each page has different images, it’ll be very difficult to do a bulk update. The update code would need to know what images get associated with each page. Even if all images are the same on every page, we’d need to know exactly how the associated images are saved in the DB. The images appear to be an Elementor feature.

I do see a “elementor-background-overlay” element on the linked page, but it’s empty of content or any background-image CSS rule. Since this is an Elementor feature, I recommend asking for help through its dedicated support forum.

What I am trying to figure out is why I can see the title graphic when I am logged in to WordPress, but not after I log out, just browsing the page.

Changing the graphic appears to work in fixing this. Not sure why. So, the basic question is whether there is a faster way to restore the graphic.

    Thanks

Since each title has its own unique image, there’s no practical way to do a bulk update. Even if you could do so, it doesn’t fix the root problem. When you select an image for the title background, Elementor generates a set of CSS rules specific for that post that specifies what image to use and how it is to be displayed. For posts with a missing image, there is no such CSS at all. It’s as though Elementor “forgot” that you ever had an image specified. This behavior is what needs to be corrected.

Since it’s an issue related to Elementor, I suggest asking in their dedicated support forum. The devs and expert users there are in the best position to help you.

Thanks. I’ve been restoring the graphics using my original, longhand method. The graphics do get restored, … but now something strange is happening. After some time (hours, or a day) some of the graphics disappear (they don’t display when browsing the page.) clearing the site cookies and cache does not restore them. I have to go back and do the procedure again.

Ugh! That has to be very disheartening to see your efforts undone like that.

Can you relate any other action to the disappearances? For example, “I published X and the graphic on Y disappeared.” I realize that this could be difficult, it’s not like graphics announce to the world “I’m going away now!”

If you can at least narrow down the time when this happens, you could examine the server access log to see what requests happened around the same time. Any POST requests would be more likely than GET to be the trigger mechanism.

If you can find a way to cause the same thing to happen on demand it’d go a long way towards troubleshooting to find the root cause.

    @bcworkz :

I have not done any intervening actions between trying to restore the graphics and them disappearing. Nothing new has been published, only attempts to make the graphics appear on the pages using the procedure I described in the beginning.

The website (www.saharacameltours.com) is very static – no blogs, e-commerce, etc. Just a “Contact Us” form which is working fine.

Interestingly, none of the other graphics on any pages “disappear.” The only ones affected are the large photos on the first section of each page. One thing I did notice is that the graphics that disappear are “background” images of the section, while the graphics that don’t disappear are images within a column within a section. Could that make a difference?

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I did not build this website and am a novice at WP and Elementor. Just trying to help a friend out who is even less able than I am. ??

The page’s title image is put on the page through a different mechanism than any images that might occur in the page’s content. It is significant that it’s a background image and other images are inline HTML, but that’s not the entire story. Somehow, whatever mechanism that’s responsible for providing the appropriate CSS rules is failing to do its job. This is part of Elementor’s functionality.

I don’t know the inner workings of Elementor, so I cannot reasonably guess at what the problem might be or what could be done to resolve it. This is why I’ve been suggesting Elementor’s dedicated support. The devs there know its inner workings better than anyone.
