I installed and now when I load the admin panel or any subpage, I get

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpcf7_add_shortcode() in /home/content/h/u/n/hunterhogan/html/wp-content/plugins/slider-captcha/modules/contact-form-7.php on line 33

on a blank page and nothing else. I can’t even get to the screen to deactivate the plugin.

Using Filezilla, I renamed ./slider-captcha/ to ./slider-captcha-broken/ and I was able to load the admin panel.

On https://www.hunterthinks.com/wp-admin/plugins.php, I get, of course, a warning “The plugin slider-captcha/slider-captcha.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.” I click Delete on the plugin.

Interestingly, the URL it takes me to is

    https://www.hunterthinks.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?action=delete-selected&checked%5B0%5D=slider-captcha-broken%2Fslider-captcha.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=%5Bdeleted-something-that-looked-like-it-needed-to-be-deleted%5D

Notice that it says “slider-captcha-broken” and NOT “slider-captcha”.

Click to view entire list of files which will be deleted

That seems good. I’m impressed that WordPress was smart enough to detect that I changed the name of the directory using Filezilla.

I click to delete the files. A tear falls down my cheek. WordPress says “The selected plugins have been deleted.” Filezilla agrees. I am not knowledgeable enough to look in the database or other locations and look for artifacts.

Plugins page and WordPress is back to normal, including multiple new spam registrations! I love the product you guys/girls/others have made. I’m not giving up on you.

If there is a report I can run that will help you diagnose the problem, please let me know. My life is, uh, “unusual”, so if I don’t respond to you, it is almost certainly has nothing to do with you.

    Hi,

Thank you for your help. What is your slider captcha plugin version? If you are running 1.1, please update to 1.1.1, and try if the problem persists.

    Ok, here goes.

    1. I had v1.1.0
    2. I went to WP admin page, found Slider CAPTCHA 1.1.1 and clicked install now. [OK]
    3. “Successfully installed the plugin Slider CAPTCHA 1.1.1.”
    4. click Activate Plugin
    5. “Plugin activated.”
    6. No errors! Yeah!
    7. Click Setting/Slider Capthca
    8. All of my settings are preserved
    9. Go to https://www.hunterthinks.com/wp-login.php?action=register and the slider is there! (It’s the only place I use it.)

    You fixed it!
