    Just an advisory really:

I use Schema Pro, and so have no need of Yoast Schema.

I was messing around this weekend with FAQ schema, and just happened to click onto ‘FAQ Schema’ in the Yoast settings.

It seemed that Yoast’s FAQ Schema is causing errors all over the place when I used Schema Pro’s ‘Test Schema’ tab.

Just thought you ought to know.

    Hello @deeveearr,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your site schema.

It seemed that Yoast’s FAQ Schema is causing errors all over the place when I used Schema Pro’s ‘Test Schema’ tab.

Can you let us know what errors you are referring to?

    Hi @maybellyne

The errors occur when you go to the Schema settings, and change the ‘default for pages (web page)’ over to ‘FAQ’.

    Thanks for sharing @deeveearr

You haven’t provided specific errors. I believe this error is valid if you are referring to the setting in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Content Types > Pages. You shouldn’t change the schema setting for all pages from Web Page to FAQ Page. This implies all pages on your website qualifies as FAQ Page.

If the change is only for a specific page and you still get the error, it could be a conflict with the third-party schema plugin you are using. I’d recommend sticking with one.

@maybellyne no, it was found on an individual page by using that page’s schema settings.

Obviously I’d considered the conflict, so I deactivated Schema Pro whilst testing.

As mentioned earlier, I don’t use Yoast Schema, and this was intended as an advisory.

Had similar issues with FAQ Schema because if refuse to switch to Block Editor (only way Yoast delivers Schema on page). They said there was now way for us to create FAQ Schema in Classic, but were wrong.

I first added a plugin called “Header & Footer Code” to WP admin, and in settings marked “All Posts”.

I then used this schema generator free tool – https://susodigital.com/tools/faq-schema-generator to create Q & A.

Then Copy and paste the JSON code it produces into the header footer plugin block created below the Yoast navigation area @ the bottom of the classic editor for the post you want to add it to, hit Update, and then check the updated URL (post) in rich results test – the FAQ is recognized by Google, per post every time.

Let me know if you need any more references to achieve what i figured out on my own…
