Use with great caution!

Updated on April 18, 2023
This plugin, despite the many positive votes, has a lot of bugs!

For example, if there are links in your article or words in bold, they may get stuck with the other words. It is also not possible to have a feed in one language, so to have your articles automatically posted on social networks, which would require a lot of work to reference your sites in other languages.

The support is also lying when they told me that it was possible to use push notifications, the push notification plugins will send pushes only in the main language.
<!– /wp:paragraph –>

And the support, when not lying, takes a very long time to answer.

<!– /wp:paragraph –>

<!– wp:paragraph –>

And the automatic translator keeps changing the automatic translation of your already translated articles!

That’s why you should not use the automatic translation of urls, because the plugin re-translates the urls several times and therefore, if google references your translated article, it will end up in 404.

<!– wp:paragraph –>

You have to translate them by hand, once and then check that the translation of the url works.

<!– /wp:paragraph –>

Finally, many of my translated articles, even on the site itself, lead to 404 errors.

The few articles in translated languages and referenced on Google, are often in 404.

During communication with WPML, I had asked them why their automatic translations were so expensive compared to what can be obtained with Deepl and Translatepress (after calculation it was 400 euros of translation with Deepl and it would have cost me 4 000 euros with WPML) and they had spoken to me about the cost of the urls with Translatepressl without giving any more precision, so I have just understood that they were talking about a light financial cost but terrible at the SEO level, because after that Google does not index the site anymore.

So, while we can now have good quality translations with the Deepl API, we really need a serious and not too expensive solution to translate our site on world press.

PS: my comments below are the testimonies of my first use of the plugin several years ago. After years with another solution that was too much work, I tried it again, but unfortunately, the same problems are still there, and I already spent a lot of money on translation and worked for weeks on my translated site, so I really hope they will look into these problems and fix them.
