Fancybox popup not working

  • I have custom product pages, and ‘nice urls’ enabled..
    Also did set the product page to open in a new page.

    When I install Fancybox for WordPress it breaks the category: It changes the link for product to ‘/test/?#prod-cat-addt-details-3’ and this page will show the complete category…

    How can I enable to show the product page in a slick popup?

    Hi Yeslian,

    Custom product pages and Fancybox for WP are mutually exclusive options at this time, sorry about that. Loading all of the custom pages would create really, really slow load times.

    With custom pages and pretty links disabled the catalog still point to the url <catalogURL>/#prod-cat-addt-details-3 <catalogURL>/#prod-cat-addt-details-4 etc. (where <catalogURL> is the url I use to insert the catalog)

    It happends as soon as I enable the ‘Fancybox for wordpress’ plugin.
    When I disable the ‘Fancybox for wordpress’ plugin the URL are ok.

    I know the plugin isnt updated for a long time, so is it still compatible?
    I would really like to popup the product pages instead of open them on a new (or existing) page..

    Hello everyone,

    Sorry to bump this thread but I’m facing the same problem at the moment. I have both WordPress and UPCP up to date, as well as “Fancybox for WordPress” (although the last version is now 5 months old). When I activate Fancybox, products details open in a fancybox indeed but at the same time the browser load a “mywebsite.com/catalogue/#prod-cat-addt-details-19” link (which brings me back on the very same page I was already actually), so that fancybox remains at screen just a few seconds before disappearing as the new page is being loaded. My website is still under development so I can’t provide you any link unfortunately.

    Do you have some news about that?

    Hi Jerem,

    We had to drop Fancybox for WP support, as the plugin stopped being updated unfortunately, and the newest version of Fancybox can’t be included in WordPress plugins, as FB has changed the terms on their license.

    If you go to the “Options” tab, switch “Maintain Filtering” to “No”. That might fix the problem depending on the error you’re having.

    Thanks Rustaurius, switching “Maintain Filtering” to “no” partly fixed the problem (tested on v3.3.4). Now product details open in a Fancybox and the page is no longer reloaded so that’s cool! But it works only on the catalogue front page though. Once I select a category on the left sidebar, Fancybox doesn’t work (it doesn’t even open). But well, given what you say about the new Fancybox license, I guess it’s not going to be fixed anytime soon.
