I just updated to 3.5.1 and Fancybox is opening everything, inline and gallery images as an attachment page, but then doing a weird thing where it’s a version of my whole site in a large fancybox display. Very strange. I publish a lot of galleries and would like to get this resolved as soon as possible! Please help! Thanks!

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled and now the inline images open fine but not the gallery. I read over past issues that were similar. Yes, I am only using IDs, not full urls. I do have a Google Analytics code pasted into my code, but it’s not a plug-in. The code is just in the footer. I have mailchimp plugin activated. That’s the only plugin that I think could cause a problem. You can look at this issue here: https://www.poppressinternational.com/2013/02/11/the-villettes-live-at-swan-dive/

Update: It appears that the new method 3.5.1 of inserting galleries is not compatible. The new shortcode automatically inputs [gallery ids="####,####,####,####"]

The way in my older posts, which I just discovered, simply reads [gallery link="file" orderby="title"]

I supposed that is pulling all images attached to the post and placing them in a gallery. Will I have to manually do this code each time or is there something I’m missing when inserting a gallery?

Choose “Link to: Media file” when inserting galleries or single thumbnails… It’s in the FAQ’s.

Nah bro, that’s done. I see the options for media file or attachment page. I’m definitely selecting media file. Still not working. Double triple quadruple checked it. I appreciate your response, but even as a media file gallery, it was opening in a new page until I manually altered the code to be [gallery link="file" orderby="title"] also works if i do [gallery link="file" ids="##,##,##"].

Other thoughts welcomed. I don’t want to manually code each gallery. Seconds are precious.

I hear that is a bug in 3.5.1 which should be solved in the next WordPress update…

    Hi All.

I had to manually add link=”file” to the shortcode to get it to go.
