    Hi,

I just installed WordFence and it’s reporting “WARNING: Your site is using a WordPress version (3.7.31) that is no longer supported by Wordfence…”

This should be false as attested by:
    – Dashboard > At A Glance = WordPress 5.3
    – HTML: <meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress 5.3″ />
    – The fact that I upgraded WP myself!

So any clue on what’s happening and whether/how I need to fix this? Thanks!

    Hey @yoktan,

Are you able to share the URL?

Are you using any caching plugins? If so, can you please try clearing it and let me know if it helps?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I’m using LiteSpeed Cache… But I only activated it AFTER the WP was updated. You really want me to purge everything?

    Hi @yoktan,

Wordfence uses your /wp-includes/version.php file to determine the WordPress version.

Can you open /wp-includes/version.php and tell me what is the value of $wp_version = *****?

    Thanks. Here: $wp_version = ‘5.3’;

Hmm… Actually, I think the error may now have disappeared after I updated some WordFence settings and saved. Can you please remind me where I would see the error. Thanks!

    Hey @yoktan,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it.

You can run a manual scan in Wordfence > Scan to see if the error returns.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

Somehow at some point (no idea what I did) the warning disappeared. Cheers
