False error: To edit this block, you need permission to upload media.

Hi there,
we are having an issue with our WordPress-backend.
Until last week (last seen working Thu 25th March) we had no problems with our WordPress. This week on Monday (29th) suddenly we cannot access our Media anymore. I.e. we can not change the picture in Gutenberg’s Media-Blocks anymore. We can only set a picture from URL for example. We also have no way to set a featured image anymore.
Weirdly enough (for some blocks only) once a picture has be set via URL we can access the Media Library again. This can be used as a workaround for some blocks but not all.
We can also still uploads pictures directly in the Media Library.
When a page/post is refreshed in edit-mode we can see the usual options for a short moment. See screen recording: https://cdn.honicon.com/misc/tmp/wordpressbug.movWe have already tried a few things: PHP update, server/databse restart, playing around with user/role permissions. New user accounts. Different browsers/machines.
We can see similarities to this older issue (might be related): https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/30453
Our logs show no anomalies really. Since last week we did not change configurations of theme/plugins etc.. The last updates were around mid of March. Everthing is up-to-date.
We are using:
Wordpress: Version 5.7
Theme: Fluida Plus (fluida-plus) 1.8.6
Server: Linux nginx/1.14.1As of now we ran into a dead end and do not know what to try/do anymore. We would appreciate any ideas how to solve our problem.
