Fallback for itunes fields

    Is it necessary to fill in fields like “iTunes Episode Title” and “Date recorded”. Would it be possible to let these fallback to the podcast episodes title and creation date?

  • No, you don’t have to fill them. If you don’t need them anyways, just go to Podcast > Settings > General and then turn off Enable iTunes fields.

    If I don’t full them out, they are not available in the RSS feed, right? In that case I’m not getting all of the iTunes features. And therefore, I need to fill them out to get the most out of iTunes with my podcast. Right?

    Right. Like Dave mentioned you don’t have to fill them out, your feed will certainly still be valid without them, but like you said to optimize your feed to the upmost (in the eyes of Apple at least) they’re recommending the fields like Episode number, etc.
