  • Hi,

We generally recommend against stacking multiple CDNs/caching on top of one another. While 2 may be generally ok, you’re increasing the number of things you have to manage using multiple caching servies & you’re also creating the greater potential for conflict between the services at some point.

I have heard of lots of people who are using cloudflare and us and have no issues (and their support people are awesome from what I know). I haven’t personally used varnish but a quick google search seemed to think it worked. I’ve asked a clarifying question to our dev team for any known issues and will get back to you as soon as I find out.

    From ther dev team :

If someone put varnish, which is a caching reverse proxy engine, in front of their own server and then enables falcon, they’re going to be caching their site twice which is generally a bad idea and won’t make it faster.

So Cloudflare and Falcon = good. Cloudflare and Varnish = possibly good.
Varnish and Falcon = not good. ??

    Thanks!

Not a problem. Sorry it took a bit to get back to you. I wanted to make sure I was giving you the right advice.

We generally don’t see any issues related to using CloudFlare and Varnish. Throwing an additional caching plugin in the mix, however, would possible create issues.
