• Hi there, I wanted to something like this, but have no solution:
My author.php is styled like a blog, listing all the posts of one author. It has a unique title, titleimage and sidebar. When a User wants to go to a single.php, coming from this bloglike-authorpage, the title and the sidebar shall remain. Can that be done?

I can not switch to 3.0, because it was so much work to get the theme to go. It would propably ruin a lot of work.

  • well yeah, if you did it on the author.php page, should be able to do it on the single.

Yeah! I am able. But seems you didnt get the point: The single.php should only be styled like the blog when coming from the author.php.

I don’t know if you can do that on regular single-site WordPress. Never seen anything like it. If you wanted it that way all around, I’d say to put in checks so that the sidebar was controlled by the author, but if you ONLY want it when they come FROM author.php, I’m not sure WP can do that at all.

That said, since you don’t actually WANT MultiSite, I’m gonna move this to the How To forum, so you get broader exposure.
