Failure to upload simple text file

  • Hi,

    This is my third attempt at trying to find a solution or even a mere response to my issue. At this point, I am unable to upload a simple text file to my site. No images, just text. The taskbar reads “Uploading 71%…” (or some other percentage figure) and then just sits there, nothing happens.

    I really need some help with this. I thought it had something to do with older pages to which I added new text but I just started a new page with new text, and it won’t upload.

    The only thing I can say is that my site has a lot of pages (not many posts, they are soon to follow), over 500, and some may contain a lot of text, like 5000 words, or more. But could that be an issue?

  • I’d try uploading a much smaller file and see if it works. I’m sure you considered this already 500 pages of text is a lot, the amount of space you have on your server may not be enough… – or try turning the file in a .pdf and see if you have any luck.

    Your server must be timing you out check with your host.

    Hi govpatel,
    The taskbar reading “Uploading 71%…” appears immediately upon hitting “Publish” (or “Update”). So I’m not sure if it’s timing me out…

    Thanks Kburrows, smaller and larger files bith may work fine, they’re still no comparison to image or audio files that are so much bigger. it’s just a freak thing. Stay tuned!
