Failure to log in

My installation has been working fine. Today my wp-includes folder was not installed. (Possibly I caught it with my mouse and didn’t see it as it occurred immediately after uploading an image file by ftp.)

I uploaded a replacement wp-includes folder and the web site operates again. Login fails with the following error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/petercl1/public_html/jackieclarkmusic.com/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 569

Following the uploading of the wp-includes folder the first attempt to log in was followed by a request to update the database which I accepted.

I took the wp-includes file from another wp site I have. Possibly this is the cause.

Any help appreciated.
