• Hi,
I just updated the plugin as I always do but now ALL our sermons are no longer loading the Audio Media Player with this new Update!
It just shows the entire URL text alone (most of of sermons are hosted on an externally so we always use the external url).
P.S: There is no additional plugin in use either, so there is no indication for a conflict.

    Please help!

Are you using the latest version of WordPress? Can you post a link so I can take a closer look?

    Hi Jack,
Yes I am. Please use this link: https://bit.ly/1gsGIMP
Same with ALL other sermons too.

Many thanks for looking into this… Awesome plugin!

It seems that WordPress is unable to determine the filetype based on your url. The trailing info after the MP3 extension is confusing it:
    .mp3?dl=1&token_hash=AAHBVtFZqZ9dlDuA77tYXLMH9Sl5EdgIekJxxj_Jx3bjAA

This stops the audio player from showing and just outputs a link. Can you try the url without the trailing info?

    Hello Jack,

I just did and here is what it looks like: a large grey box with “Download File” which reloads the page when clicked. (pls see attached screen shot: https://awesomescreenshot.com/0bc2nqju68).
Also noticed that it appears like this too for the few previous urls ending with .mp3 e.g https://bit.ly/1n9g1Rp

And sadly, with even directed uploaded music files too.

Meanwhile, I’ve just updated again to version 1.92 (currently using WP version 3.8.3).

Pls what else can I do?

    Thanks in advance!

The other example you give has spaces in the file name. That’s causing the problem for it.

    Hi Jack,
Sorry still not working. E.g see here https://thecornerstoneministries.org/inspiration/sermons/no-space-self-hosted/ where I even changed the Mp3’s ID Tag… which makes me wonder how to deal with wav files and co.

Besides, the plugin has been working very perfectly until that last update.

Also just further update Wp to the new 3.9.

I really really hope you can look through to see what is going on.
Don’t mind creating a log-in account for you to see the backend too.

    Many Thanks!

    [ No bumping please. ]

I’m having a similar issue. I updated to the latest Sermon Manager and the player has stopped displaying. https://www.madisonfbc.org/archive I get a black box with Download File in it.

    Hello @curtstrouse,

Doesn’t seem like anyone around here currently has a solution for this problem.

On a brighter side, I realise Wp is increasing getting better as a stand alone with newer updates, so for instance, I’m already gradually weaning off our Sermons from this Plugin. The latest Wp 3.9 is quite excellent with handling Audio/Media files + the new Audio Playlist feature too so…

This Plugin seemed very promising and was clearly built with good intent, but when a solo update breaks many hours of hard work (with little or no hope in sight), it really makes you think ‘outside the box’ indeed.

    Best Wishes.

Thanks NgbX. I’ll look into the native media features of WP 3.9.

I am having a similar problem with this plug in; this is for a radio site and needs to be resolved ASAP. All my previous archived posts with the html that posted the player say “undefined” when I use that html. For example, the html for the last archive is [audio:https://www.thejoewhiteheadshow.com/audio/050314.mp3%5D

    Help! Thanks!

Also experiencing the same issue. From other posts on the support feed, it appears this may be a problem with the recent Sermon Manager upgrade and WP 3.9.1.

I hope Jack has a solution!

Same problem here, along with several others. Just downgraded to WP 3.9, and it didn’t fix the problem like I had hoped. Maybe we could downgrade the plugin? Would that work?

For anyone still dealing with this issue, this is what worked for me:
