• So I broke down and downloaded and installed filezilla, while my host and username has been accepted by filezilla, it does not like the password although it will get me into my website. Is there some setting I need to change to get filezilla to recognize its a good password?

Also is there any way to upload a plugin to wordpress without filezilla or any other third party ftp client? I would much rather just upload this one file onto the site through my online control panel or file manager, which ever its called.

    Thanks a lot

You’ll need to contact your hosting provider to get a copy of your FTP username and password.

You could use the inbuilt Plugin Browser/Installer. Look at the foot of the Admin/Plugins page.

Hi thanks for the help. You speak of the built in plugin browser/installer at the foot of the admin/plugins page.

All I see is a link to the plugin directory and plain text telling the path I need to upload the plugin to. But I cant find an upload field to upload a plugin with.

Would it be in the plugin editor? I hope not, bc that wont load for me properly.

My apologies. I forgot to check what version of WP you were running. 2.7 has the Plugin Browser/Installer. Looks like you’re stuck with using FTP. ??
