Hi, getting this error: “The last rules update for the Wordfence Web Application Firewall was unsuccessful. The last successful update check was November 12, 2022 9:19 am, so this site may be missing new rules added since then. You may wait for the next automatic attempt at November 26, 2022 9:20 am or try to Manually Update by clicking the “Manually Refresh Rules” button below the Rules list.”

I did change my domain to .com instead of .co using a redirect on the old one, would that be why? How can I fix this?

Hi @soulipsyz, thanks for getting in touch.

In many cases, navigating to your wp-content/wflogs folder using FTP or your host’s file manager and deleting the contents entirely can help. Wordfence should try to repopulate it within 30 minutes so could solve any issues if the files are corrupted or unusually large.

However, if the change of domain extension/DNS record has caused any other communication issues between your site, our servers, and back again this may show in your site diagnostics. If you continue to receive this message after following the above instructions, please can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Thanks for the help, no longer seeing the error, however I am seeing this now:

    Scan Failed
The scan has failed because we received an unexpected response from the Wordfence servers. This may be a temporary error, though some sites may need adjustments to run scans reliably. Click here for steps you can try.(opens in new tab)

    The error returned was:

WordFence API error: The Wordfence API key you're using is already being used by: ***. If you have changed your blog URL, please sign-in to Wordfence, purchase a new key or reset an existing key, and then enter that key on this site's Wordfence Options page.

I’ve signed into wordfence and disconnected the old one but still getting the same error?

I sent your “support” an email a week ago and haven’t heard anything back.

Hi @soulipsyz, my apologies for a delay in contacting you.

We do not have a diagnostic email containing your username “soulipsyz” in our the inbox for wftest… specified above. If I’ve made a mistake and you contacted premium plugin support in the mean time, please let me know as they may have already responded by this time.

I suspect there’s a problem with connectivity in/out of your site, which could be linked to why the diagnostic email may not have sent also. If you contact the same email address with your username in the subject line, but instead export the diagnostic as a txt file from the same Diagnostics screen and attach it to an email from your regular email account rather than sending it directly from your site, I will be more than happy to look into it for you immediately.

    Peter.
