  • Hi,
    I have the same problem after update “Contact Form 7 Multi-Step Forms”. Now after the summary it appears the message: failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator”.
    Do anyone have a solution?
    greetings
    Steph

    I am also receiving this issue on two of three websites using the plugin.

    Please advise.

    Both sites can send email from WordPress core, and via other plugins installed (UpdraftPlus etc), just not from ContactForm7.

    I got this error too. The problem in my case was the recaptcha field, when I removed it, the form work perfectly.

    I don’t understand, my google recatcha key was good, and I registered my domain correctly in google recatcha administration.

    If someone have a solution… Thanks !

    Sorry, I though it was the same problem, I do not want create duplicate topic…

    These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

    Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

    @buzztone

    i have tried alot from there from what i can see but i will have a full read through it tonight there maybe something that ive missed

    @bdude30

    mine was all configured and working on previous versions its only recent updates that i have had this problem i managed another site also with no issues (same versions) so i dont get it the only difference i found is the site that worked was with a cheap hosting package and the one that doesn’t work is installed on a expensive dedicated server package i have pretty much full control over and there is nothing i can see that would stop it working the email address used is from the same host/domain name which from what ive read is the most common error e.g change the from field to a email address from that same host example [email protected] most people solve their issue that way wheres mine just doesn’t work another forum suggested using easy smtp and setting up my email that way to allow emails to pass through but that doesn’t have enough settings to set up my account so it fails authentication i tried contact form builder that appears to be running with no issues but then i don’t receive the test email so im stumped on this one the thing thats bugging me is it will be something daft.

    Hi everyone,

    We are having the same error and it’s taking place on multiple sites, but specific to GoDaddy hosted sites – and these are sites that have worked fine with this plugin for years until now, so yes it seems to be the recent plugin upgrade for us too.

    @abramarket – see the posts above from esmi (Forum Moderator) – As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

    Posting in an existing topic and taking over the original posters question is generally considered inappropriate. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    @esmi – thanks for your timely moderation – it really helps in this forum.

    This article helped me fix it: https://contactform7.com/2016/01/15/red-border-error-issue-on-wordpress-441/

    I notice it is a sticky at the top of the forum – but probably could have been worded better as plenty of us missed it!

    It’s basically down to the from address in the mail section of the contact form. You can no longer have the person filling in the contact form’s email address here since the latest WordPress update.

    @simon – Please include a link to your Contact Form 7 form plus all your input in the Form and Mail sections of the CF7 interface. This will help others here to understand your actual problem.

    @simon – you seem to have mis-labelled your Mail & Form sections but I think I’ve figured how your form is setup at that all looks fine.

    RE: one that doesn’t work is installed on a expensive dedicated server package i have pretty much full control over and there is nothing i can see that would stop it working the email address used is from the same host/domain name

    I think you should consider contacting your hosting provider to look more closely at this issue.

    Here’s why:
    1. CF7 form is sending as expected on other (cheap) hosting.
    2. Your form setup is fine – no problems there.

    The only other option I can think of is temporarily remove the `recaptcha’ tag to see if that is the cause of the problem.
