I’ve been using Contact Form 7 for years and the forms I set up have been very reliable… but suddenly they seemed to have stopped working, and I haven’t made any changes to the settings. Even when all the info is entered correctly, when you click “submit” there is a “failed to send message” error. This is not just on the page noted above, it is also here or here. I haven’t checked all the forms yet, but I would guess they all stopped working.

Hope you can help… will definitely donate if we can solve this quickly. Till now the plugin has been super reliable.

Just discovered possible reason, though I don’t know the solution. I modified the automated replies, so I could distinguish if the message failed to send for unknown reasons, or because the submission was deemed as spam… and it seems an ordinary, simple submission without any links is being flagged as spam! How can I prevent that?

I have reCaptcha configured and it had been working properly without any issues until recently.

Do you have something in the Comment Blacklist?

Nobody blacklisted in the comment blacklist. My thought is that it must be related to the recaptcha settings, since it’s not sending because Submissions at flagged as possible spam. I tried going to the google captcha site but can’t make heads or tails of it because I’m not a software developer, I’m merely a paper engineer who does her own WordPress website using themes and plugin by others…

And now that I think back, though I’ve been using Contact 7 for years I’m not sure I have gotten any contact through these forms since I upgraded and had to switch to captcha 3

    “Really Simple CAPTCHA: 2.0.1”

The above plugin might well be suspect.
    – I had to remove *ALL* of my excess CAPTCHA plugins to get CF7 forms to work.
Which also involved deleting all of my the old keys on the Google reCaptcha site after getting rid of all reference to [I’m a not a robot – tick box] on my site.

What this all means; is that I’m now solely reliant on reCAPTA V3 working as it should in actually identifying spam Bots, ..

Bottom line: after doing (all) that, CF7 now (all) works fine.
That worked here, might work there.

Oh that worked!!!! Thank yo so much! I would never have thought to remove “Really Simple CAPTCHA” since it’s by the same developer as Contact Form 7 and was designed to work with it… but removing it wasn’t enough, I had to replace the keys (another thing I wouldn’t have thought of doing). Thanks a million!
