    Hey all,

I’ve installed your plugin… worked awesomely. Recenlty swapped hosting providers and now the contact form errors out saying “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”
I contacted my provider and their response was: “This type of issue usually occurs over migration, as you have developed the site according to the previous host, which does not match with new host. I will suggest you to contact your web developer and get the codes updated/checked.”
Now we created this wordpress site in-house so I guess we’re the ‘web developer’. I’m at a loss as to what to look for and how to fix this.
    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Takayuki

I did check the FAQ’s, that’s why I contacted my host provider.
In terms of “Mario Vargas says he solved a mail-related problem with WP-Mail-SMTP plugin” I also looked at as well but it’s all from 2009 and referring to an old version of WordPress which doesn’t match up with mine? (ie. Advanced Email Options) unless I’m missing something here?

Would you be able to point me in the right direction?

OK. What border color around the error message do you see? Where can I check the site? I have had almost no information about your situation yet.

I was seeing a red border – “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

I installed that plugin WP-Mail-SMTP… seemed to have worked. Had to change a couple of settings as the email message wasn’t showing up etc.

I now get no border and the success message next to the send button?

    Please check https://www.thinkinghats.net.au/contact

    Thanks in advance Takayki!

I cant send emails to my own domain!

DNS: IP A record to host, MX to other host

Workaround – Create email alias to forward all incoming email to target inbox
    [email protected] -> [email protected]

this is not a solution IMO.

this form was working prior to upgrading WP to 3.5.1

probably needs a fix in the plugin

I am getting the same message on all my Contact Form 7 forms.
“Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”
I am using version WP 3.5.1 and the latest of Contact Form 7 v3.3.3

The only thing I can think of is the upgrade of Contact Form DB yesterday. Used to work fine with 3.5.1 of WP.

But de-activating Contact Form DB does not help.

Looked at FAQ, but short of installing another plugin like WP-MAIL-SMTP I cannot see why all of a sudden the problem started

Just sharing what I found so far for everyone else’s benefit. Further to the above I did some investigation. There seems to be a problem with SMTP. I downloaded WP-MAIL-SMTP and installed it. When trying to send test email I received this error:

SMTP -> FROM SERVER:550-Verification failed for
    550-No Such User Here”
    550 Sender verify failed

SMTP -> ERROR: RCPT not accepted from server: 550-Verification failed for
    550-No Such User Here”
    550 Sender verify failed

SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: [email protected]

    SMTP not working

When I selected PHP as the mail() function from WP-MAIL-SMTP Settings it worked fine.

So this could be a solution for the rest of you guys, until the SMTP problem is fixed. I don’t know who’s issue is…

@yakos…like I said using another plugin should not be necessary.

I have two sites both at WP 3.5.1 and both using Contact Form 7 v 3.3.3
both with same host provider but on different servers.

One works the other does not. Why? I checked into it some and the only thing I see different is the PHP version used on the server side are different version.

The server side newer version of the PHP v 5.3.21 is the site NOT working,
and the server with PHP 5.3.18 works.

    @floridainternet… thanks for the reply

The server PHP version the ISP has is 5.2.17 and I have two websites on the same server. On one CF7 (v 3.3.3) works fine using SMTP to mail() and the other I had to resort to PHP mail() because SMTP was not functioning as you can see from above.
Of course I have different plugins installed on the two sites. I can provide you with an example page.

    Hy Guys,

I use two wp 3.5.1 platform with CF7 3.3.3 plugin on the same server, cf7 was working on one platform but not on the second.

On the wp platform where the cf7 wasn t working, I ve created a new cf7 with all the configuration needed before saving it as a new cf7 and it works now.

For some reason, it seems that if you modify your cf7 after creating it, it will not work anymore.

I did not fix the plugin issue, but at least I can work with it.

    Hope it can help !

    I have a similar problem

Contact form would not send a message if user was logged out
error message was in a red framed box “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

I then logged in, could send a message successfully. After this action I could then send messages from logged out state and everything functioning OK again

I now modified this message in ..\contact-form-7\includes\functions.php giving an email address in lines 36 and 46

and now it reverted back to “Failed to send your message…”

I’ve had the same problem after migrating website.
I’ve just created new contact forms and deleted the old ones. Now it’s working fine again.
