When I try to save or publish my web story, the following message appears:

Failed to save the story: Could not update the metadata value of web_stories_publisher_logo in the database. (Internal server error)

    Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi @recoverjp , happy to check on this for you but need to gather a few additional details.

    1) Do you see any warnings or errors about REST API when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status)?

    2) Can you check if you get the same error in an incognito browsing window?

    3) Could you please check for any browser console errors when you get this message?

    4) If you like to provide your Site Health information I can check for any obvious plugin conflicts as well. You can share privately here if you prefer.

Hi @luckynasan, thanks for trying to help me

    1. There is no error about REST API in my Site Health Status.
    2. The same error happened in the incognito tab
    3. Yes, console error appears when I try to save or publish the web story (image)
    4. Ok, I’m sending the site’s health information privately.

@recoverjp Thank you. Who is your hosting provider?

    My hosting provider is hostinger.com

@recoverjp thank you. I am going to test a similar set up on my end to try to reproduce your error. To rule out other plugins/theme playing a role, I recommend you to try disabling all other plugins & switching a default WordPress theme to see if that resolves the issue.

Please let me know if the issue still occurs with no other plugins active and when using a default theme like Twenty Twenty.

Unfortunately I still have the same problem

Since it’s an internal server error, could you check the server’s error log when this happens to see if anything stands out? There’s something that prevents WordPress from writing this value to the database. Could be some issue with the object cache (if set up) or the database itself. Hostinger might be able to pinpoint exact error information.

I found the error. It’s about the plugin “CMSMasters Importer”. When it is installed, it causes an error in “Web Stories” and does not allow saving or publishing the story.
