while creating or updating a product, when I add a file or file download link to the Dowloads field and try to update the product, I encounter the “Failed to save product” error.

From what I gather, this happens when the New product editor
(beta) option is enabled, in the screen at wp-admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features
. While testing this on a test site of mine, I was not able to reproduce the issue, with WooCommerce version 8.9.3 activated.
To clarify, did you already have a chance to test with that option disabled, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?
Also, I do not use the customer account registration feature. When a guest customer places an order, will the download link be emailed to the customer when I confirm the order?
Upon processing and payment of the order, the customer receives an invoice/order confirmation containing a clickable link to download. Further details can be found at the document linked here.
