Hello – My website has disappeared. It returns an error, “failed to open stream: No such file or directory”. There is more error text if you need to know more. I updated the plugin “google-analytics-for-wordpress”. Next I tried to update the Yoast SEO plugin but it never finished. It was at that point that I realized there is a problem. I can’t access my dashboard so I can’t diagnose. PLEASE help! Thank you.

    Hi,

Ftp into your website and rename the plugins directory to something like plugins-bak and then try to login to your dashboard. That should work. Then re-enable each Plugin, if the issue comes back, do it once more and delete then reinstall the Plugin.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you. I will try that. I’m having trouble logging in to my ftp. Will update again if needed.

That got the site to work, but I still can’t access the WP dashboard. I get this error:

“W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/baron01/mysitename.com/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.”

Ok, I renamed the “advanced-cahce.php” file and can now access the dashboard. We’ll see how it goes. Thank you.

Great to hear. Cache plugins do cause a little issue when things are switch or changed around and it is only because they either cache plugin shortcodes, other codes, etc.. so when you remove a plugin and you don’t clear manually the cache, the page still looks for cache but it isn’t able to load the plugins data because the plugin isn’t there. So the problem happens. ??

I’m glad to hear its fixed for now. Keep us posted and don’t hesitate to ask for help, if needed with something else. We’re always here.

    Thank you, Cheers!
