    Hey Frank,

Can you take a look at the javascript errors for autoptimize on digitalstrategyworks.com. The site loads fine when I’m logged in to /wp-admin and I view the home page. When I’m not logged in, the site is broken. I tried turning on/off the autoptimize and async plugins and dumped the cache and everything. I just can’t seem to narrow down the issue.

I’m not sure if it’s the plugin, the theme, or something else entirely, but seeing a lot of autoptimize failed to load errors in the jqvascript console.

    Thanks.

Okay, I was able to get the new CSS and generate the Critcal Path CSS. I added the new code to the text field in the plugin, dumped the WP Engine cache, and it seems to be working now with ASYNC enabled.

Would you say that every time I make a new, front-end change to the site’s home page that I generate a new critical CSS code and paste it?

I’m going to mark this as resolved.

I’ve notified the Make folks about the error you found to see if they can resolve and that will fix the /wp-admin dashboard 500 error for the Crital CSS Add-on.

Do you want me to open a ticket on that one over on that plugin’s page?

when doing it with manual “above the fold CSS” in AO proper, yes you’ll have to regenerate with every more or less significant to your site. also take into account that the CCSS for your homepage may be different from other pages, so you might have to tweak it to apply more or less to multiple pages.

re. make; better you log it, as you’re an actual user. feel free to share the URL of the ticket here, I’ll follow up on it ??

Got it. They released a fix and all is working now. Thanks so much for staying with this. Your support is top notch. I really appreciate all your help every time there is an issue.

It’s all good now. I identified new critical CSS, took the Make Theme updates, and now the Critical CSS plugin also works and the theme is not throwing the 500 error. I’ll migrate over to the Critical CSS subscription soon.

    Much appreciated. Great help.
