Hi there, I have just started using your fantastic plugin, and really love it. However, it is throwing up a ‘failed to initalize’ plugin warning at the lefthand side of the recipe posts.

When I deactivate the plugin the warning disappears and the recipes are still shown, but not in the nice display.

I am using WordPress 6.6.2 and the Generatepress Theme.

Any thoughts on how I handle this?

    Hi there,

It’s likely some kind of compatibility problem between plugins or with your theme. Could you try using the Health Check plugin to test? We have a video in our documentation showing you exactly how to do that: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/108-debugging-plugin-problems

Specifically the compatibility mode shown in the video where it basically tests a default theme and no other plugins active. So that we can figure out what combination of plugins/theme is causing this.

    Kind regards,
    Brecht

Hi Brecht, I have gone into Site Health – Troubleshooting and decativated all plugins. When I call up the article it shows this – is this what you need?

“Your site doesn’t include support for the WPRM Recipe block. You can try installing the block, convert it to a Custom HTML block, or remove it entirely.”

Nothing showed up when I disabled/enabled each of the plugins???

Sorry, I am not overly techy, but willing to give it a go.

Make sure WP Recipe Maker itself is activated during the compatibility test.

We’re basically trying to find what combination of 2 plugins (WP Recipe Maker and X) or plugin + theme (WP Recipe Maker and Y) causes that error to show up.

Morning Brecht, I checked the recipe pages this morning and the issue seems to have disappeared?? If it comes back I will run through the troubleshooter – but for now I can’t replicate the problem.

    Cheers.

Hi Brecht, well the issue occured again, so I re-ran the troubleshooter and it looks like the WP Optimize plugin is causing the problem. What’s the next step please?

Just tested that plugin and don’t seem to be experiencing any issues with WP Optimize enabled. Maybe there’s a specific setting on their end causing the issue? Could you test playing around with their settings?

Could you send a screenshot of the exact error you’re seeing to [email protected] as well?

I have sent you a screenshot.

We solved this through our support system. Disabling the “Show Admin Bar Menu Item” setting on the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Permissions page got rid of the error.

When this setting is enabled, we provide a front-end editing option for our recipes. This front-end editing also loads a wp_editor field, which I think caused an error in another plugin.
