Hello i’m a newcomer by git.
I had install local xampp and then the Revisr plugin. After the install:

Thanks for installing Revisr! No Git repository was detected, click here to create one.

I click on “click here” and this error message comes:
Failed to initialize a new repository. Please make sure that Git is installed on the server and that Revisr has write permissons to the WordPress install.

I noticed that this is a simily post, but i can not find help:

$whitch git
/bin/git

in my wp-conig.php i added this line:
define( ‘REVISR_GIT_PATH’, ‘/bin/git’ );

This forum post looks similar, but could not help me unfortunately:

A realy useful plugin, a plugin wp have been waiting for.

Yes shure.

Operating System Windows NT
Exec() Enabled true
Git Install Path Not Found
Git Version Unknown
MySQL Install Path Not Found
Repository Status No repository detected.

I can do a git init and it is a .git directory created in my wp root directory. So Git is installed and working.

- Right-Click on My Computer
- Click Advanced System Settings link from the left side column
- Click Environment Variables in the bottom of the window
- Then under System Variables look for the path variable and click edit
- Add the pwd to git’s bin and cmd at the end of the string like this:
;C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\cmd

In my case, only the \Git\bin entry missing. I must restart my pc. Now it’s works. This Links also had help me:
