Failed to import Media

    I am using WordPress 5.6.1 and created an export file from one WordPress site and tried to import it to another site on the same host but I got a bunch of messages of the form:

    Failed to import Media <filename>

    With no further description of the reason for failure. The XML export file I’m trying to import is < 500k is there a way to get a more detailed description of the problem encountered or what’s the best way to debug this?

    Did you use the default import/export tool?

    When you generated your export file, was it on a live server or a localhost? Is the previous site still accessible? If the media import fails, it means the images, as linked out of the XML, are coming up as missing (404)
