Looks like this is a known issue with the Analytics plugin, can you try updating to the latest version to see if the problem persists?

Yes that was the version of my plugin 3.0.4. I’m running WordPress 4.1. This starting happening only after this latest update of the plugin.

Google Analytics by Yoast, version 5.2.7, reportedly fixes this issue. (see the previous link). Can you try updating that plugin? Given that Akismet is distributed with WordPress core, I would expect to see many other reports of similar issues.

So embarrassing. I was giving you the plugin version of Akismet. I just downloaded latest Google Analystics to 5.2.8 and so far so good.
