• Moved from DreamHost to GoDaddy (using GoDaddy’s automatic move feature). Unfortunately it didn’t do anything with MailPoet, so I had to recreate the newsletter templates (which were working fine) and then export and re-import the contact list to the new database.

The mail send tests work fine (for both Sendmail and PHP). Other plug-ins are also sending email just fine (Email Notifications, WordFence), but the automatic newsletter that was supposed to go out last week shows that, although it’s marked as “Sent” on the newsletter list, when I open the newsletter for a report, all of the contacts have a “Failed Send” in their status column, and the pie chart shows 100% “Not Sent.”

I thought maybe I needed to set up a cron job, but that’s not possible with GoDaddy unless I pay for a different hosting plan (currently using WordPress Managed).

Any idea what could be going on?

  • There are 2 things that could be happening to you:

    1) We currently have a WordPress cron issue with users that have MailPoet installed on Managed WordPress accounts at GoDaddy. You need to rely on your site’s visitors to trigger your newsletter queue, instead of the MailPoet Cron URL (Settings > Advanced > Geeky options).

    2) Failed Send means a problem with the sending server. I suggest you edit one of these newsletters, go to the final step of the newsletter creation process (3rd step) and send a preview test to Mail-Tester: https://support.mailpoet.com/knowledgebase/mail-tester/

Please, perform that test and let us know the resulting URL so that we can check what’s going on with your Spam Score.

I am using GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress for this blog, so I’ll assume that I need to rely on site visitors to trigger sends (not sure how that works), but that is what the Geeky options are set to do. We get between 15 and 60 sessions a day. Is that not enough to trigger the send?

    I tried the Mail-Tester:

Unfortunately, since it’s a GoDaddy Managed WordPress account, I can’t create email addresses for this domain, so I assumed I could use the client’s email addresses. Seems like that’s “not allowed.” but I don’t see why that would stop the newsletters from going out.

    Hi,

    1. You should be fine with that level of visitors, but we can’t really say for certain, as it depends on the specific site.

    2. Looks like there is an issue with your SPF. Can you follow this guide?

    https://www.mail-tester.com/spf/godaddy

Wait 12-24 hours after that and run another test.

    Thanks!
