I tried to perform a restore from a previously successful backup using JetBackup.

To restore the previous backup, I went to the Dashboard and selected the installed plugin, JetBackup. From there I was given a selection of successfully completed backups. I selected the March 8, 2024 backup and selected restore. Next a prompt appeared giving me a choice of restoring everything including the database which is what I selected.

The restore started and immediately displayed the message:

“Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”

I am locked out and cannot login to the website.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello daviddelcastillo,

If you are able to, can you please provide the version and/or tier (Free, Solo, Admin, Pro) of the JetBackup for WordPress plugin that was used?

To exit maintenance mode, you will need to access the site’s root directory using FTP and remove the .maintenance file. If a plugin/theme was causing the issue, you can check by disabling them and then activating each one individually.

Thank you for your quick reply. I found that by following your instructions of deleting the .maintenance file and renaming the plugins and themes directories, I was able to recover the website.

What are my options concerning versions of JetBackup? I plan to delete the current free plugin I am currently using.

    Hi daviddelcastillo,

We’re glad to hear that you were able to recover your site!

We offer three additional tiers (Solo, Admin, Pro) besides the Free tier and you can compare them HERE. To summarize, these tiers offer scheduled backups, website migration (Admin, Pro), and access to more backup destinations. The number of sites that will be able to utilize the license depends on the tier up to a maximum of 30 websites.

Your interest in JetBackup for WordPress is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to supporting you in the future!

    Best Regards,
    The JetApps Team
