Did Facebook change its algorithm or the plugin is messing up?

We have one article that’s getting popular in the city with hundreds of likes, 67 shares on Facebook, 20 shares on Twitter and yet the plugin is showing 61 shares only! Before, it used to count all the likes and shares combined. Did you guys change anything or did Facebook change its algorithm and is affecting MashShare’s?

PS our Access Token Key is fine!

  • Your website exceeded the Facebook rate limit. Share count requests to Facebook and other networks will be delayed for 30min—- the plugin has been stuck all day with the same poster showing the facebook limit, restarting the 30 minutes and returns the count never ends
something has happened before I did not have that problem and my site does not have so many visits and likes for facebook to limit it

I have followed each of the site tutorials and they have not worked

@wafwaf We did not change anything. So the share count you get is exactely the share count facebook is returning.

@carlosusa77 Try to use a facebook api key, if this does not work remove it again.

    Update:
It turned out to be Facebook’s problem and they fixed it after 3 days of complaining.
Thank you guys for a wonderful plugin.

Hi, since last update I have the same issue. The banner : “Your website exceeded the Facebook rate limit. Share count requests to Facebook and other networks will be delayed for 30min and the Share Count will not grow during this time. If you see this notice often consider to change MashShare Caching Method to Refresh while Loading and use a higher cache expiration. MashShare tries again to get shares in 29 minutes” displays all the time, and the SETTINGS > NETWORKS panel now won’t display the field to add the Fb API key. Now, when I check the shares at Fb debug (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/) the shares are ok, (in this case 257), when i check at my blog, it shows 10. I already tried deleting cache files and reloding pages, but it won′t modify the site and Fb is not blocking the site (in fact the Fb shares at fb are completely ok)

Any ideas? Is there another way to add the Fb API Key modifying a specific file manually? (this is only happening since last update.

    Thanks in Advance,
    Em.-
