• Hi there,

I have both twitter and facebook feeds in my footer as widget text (copied the codes from the respective widget preferences on my social media accounts). The twitter one works well every time the page loads, but my Facebook one doesn’t show up. It just says “Beneficial State Foundation” in italics up top as a link, that redirects to my facebook page.

    the website is: beneficialstate.org

    any suggestions?
    thanks!

  • Any news on this yet? It seems to me that all facebook widgets don’t work with this theme. I tried both a ‘fan-page’ and a regular facebook profile page…

    No news. So frustrating.

Minamaze support says: “The issue you’re experiencing isn’t caused by the theme itself. The issue you’re experiencing is caused by the 3rd party Facebook plugin or the code you’re using. In this case, you’ll need to contact the 3rd party plugin developer or Facebook directly for support. We can only assist with issues related to the theme itself as such it goes beyond the scope of our support.”

Also the theme doesn’t save my changes (for example- changing the color of the footer and the color of the line in between the body and the footer). I’ve made the same changes multiple times, but it always reverts back to the original.

    Hi Emma,

I was able to fix this problem by using a different plugin. The jetpack plugin doesn’t seem to work with this theme, so I found “easy facebook likebox”. It worked out fine for me, and even you don’t have to, it shows you the code once you entered all your info, so you can use it in different areas other than the sidebar or footer. If you google me you’ll see my webpage (the plugin is in my sidebar and footer).

    Hope this helps,

    Sam

PS: about your color changes, did you add the code to style.css? It could be because if the theme is updated this file gets overwritten, so your changes are lost. Therefore it’s better to work with a child theme…

Thanks so much Sam – that one works. the “look” isn’t as sleek as Facebook’s but can’t complain when at the very least it’s working!

    I’m a wordpress n00b, what’s a child theme?

    Glad it worked out!

A child theme is basically a copy of a theme that you do your tweakings on based on a theme that you installed earlier, so when the original get’s updated, your changes remain eventho it gets updated… I suggest you look it up, since this is a whole different topic…
