    Hi

    Genuine question.

I have not implemented any social network for my site.

I like the idea of having a private social network.

With Facebook the group is promoted by Facebook. And you get many organic traffic.

With Peepso the objection is I have to send all users there. No organic growth.

I am confused. Hopefully, you can direct me.

    Regards Johan

    Hi,

    Genuine answer.

If you run an online shop, let’s say for bicycles. You create a facebook group and you send your clients away from your site. Sending people away from your site is problem number one because at the same time they stay away from your offer.

Problem number two. Facebook knows exactly what group you’ve created and what’s its purpose and will show your competition’s ads and suggestions. It just will. And with that you might lose these some clients.

Problem number three. Censorship. Fb has their own guidelines and they can do whatever they want whether you agree with it or not. You have very little control here.

Problem number four. Privacy. You pretty much give up any privacy right, they can see it all and do whatever they want with it. Including and not limited to targeted ads based on what you just talk about, not just interests in profiles.

Problem number five. Data. Once you upload anything to Fb, they can pretty much do whatever they want with it. You can’t really stop them from processing it however they want and doing whatever they want with it.

We could go on and on…

Hahaha. Excellent. Did not expect the reminder. It’s a very useful answer. We take these issues for granted.
