Facebook uses shop base url for meta
-
I’ve tried using various plugins for SEO such as Ultimate SEO and All in One SEO pack. It doesn’t seem to matter what options or features I have set. Everything gets overridden. Even with no SEO plugin active the results are the same. Using the Object Debugger on Facebook, all product pages scrape the shop base page rather than the product itself.
For example:
on page https://pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/unisex-priceless-pets-logo-zip-up-hoodie/I get:
Fetched URL https://pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/unisex-priceless-pets-logo-zip-up-hoodie/
Canonical URL https://pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/original https://pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/unisex-priceless-pets-logo-zip-up-hoodie/
og:url https://pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/The following will be treated as a redirect by the crawler:
A HTTP redirect
A <link rel=”canonical” href=”..” /> tag
A <meta property=”og:url” content=”..” /> tag
The final URL, which we tried to extract metadata from is highlighted in boldAnd then it uses the meta information from pricelesspetrescue.org/shop rather than pricelesspetrescue.org/shop/unisex-priceless-pets-logo-zip-up-hoodie/
How can I fix this? What is causing it to use the shops base url rather than the product url?
