    Recently, we had a facebook user register for an event. However, it did not make her create an account (eventhough No-User Booking Mode is set to No and not enabled). Without a real email account, ([email protected] or something is what came over) the host could not contact her to make sure she had correct directions to the event.

    We have allowed facebook (and Twitter) for commenting. For this, we use MailChimp’s Social plugin where we have enabled “Pull in social comments from facebook and Twitter.” Typically, this means that if someone mentions us on Twitter, it shows up in the comments…and that’s a little fuel for the tiny discussions we have via social media.

    I don’t know where to look to see about solving this. I’d like Social to still work for commenting. I’d like them to HAVE to create a real account with a real email address to Book a Ticket.

    sorry can I know or give us more details about facebook registration?

    Are you requiring users to log in before placing a booking?

    Angelo, she used facebook to Book a Ticket. The site allows her to use facebook (or Twitter) to do some kind of pseudo-login so that comments and Social Media mentions thread nicely. Somehow, Events Manager is also allowing people to Book Tickets via facebook….but it’s not requiring them to leave a working email address.

    Caimin, if you are asking if we allow Guest Bookings, yes we do. Often, that is the way the person creates their account with us. If I turn that off, will this force them to create a “real” account or will they still be able to use the Mailchimp Social plugin to Book Tickets while logged into facebook or Twitter.

    Let me know if there are things you need to see beyond the site itself.

    Sorry, I don’t have any suggestions on how to “fix” this because the issue is that Facebook logins are intended to avoid the need for email addresses – but you don’t want that when it comes to event bookings.

    The only thing I can suggest is to see if it’s possible to suppress Facebook logins on certain pages, like events. You’d need to ask the developer of the other plugin if that’s possible.

    Thanks for the clarification. I’ll see what I can get out of Social for an option.

    It’s strange to me that one plugin can affect another one in this way.
