Facebook URL does not support non-English

    AuthorSure is using the standard WordPress function esc_url which is recommended for validating URLs.

    The function encodes characters as HTML entities.

    I just tried using a Facebook URL with a cedilla ( ? or %E6) and it was not removed. In fact it work fine on both the admin and external site

    There is a possibility is that another plugin is affecting the entry of the contact methods on the Profile page.

    If they are under AuthorSure control then there will be icons next to the label as shown here:
