Facebook share not sharing image on image post

When I choose to create an image post with a single image, pressing the share button try’s to share the banner image for the site and not the image that is the point of the post.
Also, instead of a clean share of the image, the share has text associated with it that seems to be guidance for adding HTML in a comment.
