facebook share, like, comment disappeared

    Hi Friends,

    I have been using Super Socializer(SS) for years without any problem.
    Since some days all the Facebook related SS functions disappeared from my site.

    I mean the buttons are not visible at all, and commenting section with the comments have also disappeared:
    – Social sharing “fb Recommend” at before content,left,
    – “fb Like” button at end of content,center
    – Social commenting section at the end of articles ( Only fb commenting is allowed) The header of the section is visible with “Comments” and “Facebook comments” but the active commenting area disappeared.
    The problem is only related to Facebook. All other social buttons, see Linkedin are displaying properly.
    If I make a right click “Inspect element” on the button’s place blank area , I can see the code of the fb buttons, but they are not displaying.

    This maladjustments happens on desktops and laptops only, on mobiles everything seems working properly.

    Plugin conflicts excluded. No updates or modification on the site in latest days.
    I’m with recent WP and SS versions.

    Any idea to locate and fix the issue?

    Hi there,

    I can see Facebook share and Facebook Comments working fine at your website. Recently other people were also facing issue with Facebook like, share and comments. So, it seems some temporary issue on the end of Facebook which has been taken care of.

    No, they are still not working on my website. Please find bellow the printscreens of the issue.
    Guess you checked through mobile or palmtop, but I have these problem only on desktops and laptops.

    I still do face the problem.
    I have checked with different laptops and desktops from different places.
    Here are the printscreens of the missing fb active areas.
    1. Missing fb recommend button, befor content,left align (left to linkedin button.)
    2. Missing fb comments active area, just the headlines are visible.
    3. I cant printscreen the missing fb like button as there is only empty space after content, align center.

    (During troubleshooting I tried substituting the ‘fb recommend’ classic button with custom fb button and that is showing up correctly. But I can’t substitute fb like and comment area with custom way.)

    Thanks for your help in advance.

    (I do not want to change your plugin as it was working seamlessly for years.)

    Recently other users of this plugin also reported the similar problem and it got fixed in a couple days itself. It seems some temporary issue on the end of Facebook.

    I still face the problem but hoping to get it solved.

    In the mean time let me inform you what the error console displays in European countries checking my site:

 is refused to display  in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'deny'.

    So it seems to be an iframe related security problem, (possibly to prevent Click-jacking attacks.)

    It seems to be something on the end of Facebook. Are you still facing this problem?

    Thanks for following up this string!

    No, the problem has got solved.
    (First I had to make some coding hack through .htaccess regarding Content Security Policy HTTP Header ‘x frame’ security options, but from beginning of this week Facebook ‘output’ must have changed again, so my sites are working again normally without the temporary coding hack.)

    If you are visiting the website from Europe – Facebook has now blocked Facebook plugins (Facebook like, Facebook Comments etc) in Europe with the explanation “For the Social Plugins, users must be logged into their Facebook account and have provided explicit consent in order to see and interact with plugins such as the ‘Like’ button or ‘Comments.’ If neither of the conditions are met, they will not see these plugins.” Facebook Comments still works OK for all other regions. e.g. India, Asia, North America, South America, etc. This is because of the ePrivacy Directive (ePD).
    This has been reported to Facebook by many other people here https://developers.facebook.com/support/bugs/854001531875629/
    So, if you are not logged into your Facebook account in the browser (that you are using to visit your web page), you won’t see Facebook like/share and Facebook Comments and other Facebook plugins.
