  • Hey Danni468,

Our plugin will allow you to do this. When placing more than one feed on site using the same plugin installation then you just need to indicate within the shortcode itself as to which account you wanted that particular feed to display.

For this page’s https://www.alloccasionsdirectory.co.za/listings/mion-bridal-design/ feed you would use this shortcode: [custom-facebook-feed id=mionbridal]

    AND

For this page’s https://www.alloccasionsdirectory.co.za/listings/the-face-painters-south-africa/ feed you would use this shortcode: [custom-facebook-feed id=knysnafacepaint]

Setting up your feeds in this manner will allow the shortcode for each different feed know which account it is supposed to retrieve data from. You can also find other shortcode options here that would allow you to style each feed different from one another as well.

Thank you so much for getting back to me – I am still very new at this, so please bare with me…

All I want is the box with a like and possibly message button as the examples given (no feeds) – just the box – please advise?

    Hey Danni468,

No need to apologize for being new at this as we were all in the same spot ourselves at one time or another (and still learning new things as we go along).

To accomplish what you asked, you would need to:

    For this page’s https://www.alloccasionsdirectory.co.za/listings/mion-bridal-design/ feed you would use this shortcode: [custom-facebook-feed id=mionbridal include=likebox num=0]

    AND

    For this page’s https://www.alloccasionsdirectory.co.za/listings/the-face-painters-south-africa/ feed you would use this shortcode: [custom-facebook-feed id=knysnafacepaint include=likebox num=0]

To help you understand this a bit better… basically what your shortcode is saying is: “Using the Custom Facebook Feed plugin show me content from mionbridal/knysnafacepaint (depending on which one you specify) and only show the plugin element of the “Like Box” (include=likebox) and no posts (num=0).

You can see the proper use of other shortcode options and how to apply them on this page here.

I hope this helps with what you want to accomplish and gives you a bit more insight as to what is going on behind the scenes.

Again thank you for your patience..

Its still not working… Am I doing something wrong? I am pasting your code in Face Painter and it automatically copies to mion bridal and now no box shows?

Do I need to do something in the actual plugin that I am missing?? How can I send you a screen grab?

    Thanks

    Danni

    Hey Danni486,

Just in case I am misinterpreting something I set up a quick test page here. Click that link and let me know if what I indicated on the test page is what you are trying to do. If so then I will know better how to direct you to accomplish that.

Yes that is correct! Exactly like that but I cant seem to get it to work at all… I have spent the past 24 hours trying and I getting desperate now

    Hey Danni468,

No problem. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly and now let’s get you on the right path. I am sending this link which will display a screen shot so you can see exactly how I have the code on the test page of the link provided earlier.

You really only need the two shortcodes that are present and indicated by the red arrows.

Place this first shortcode (in case it isn’t large enough to read):
[custom-facebook-feed id=mionbridal include=likebox num=0 showheader=false] whereever you want the Mionbridal Like Box to appear and this shortcode [custom-facebook-feed id=knysnafacepaint include=likebox num=0 showheader=false] wherever you want the Face Paint Like Box to appear.

Its still not working – I am doing exactly what you say…

I did however find this: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin Which gives me code and the box comes out BUT it still over rides so if I put the code in face paint, mion bridal also shows the facepaint box again…

Is the problem the fact that I am putting it in the widgetised area??

    I hope this works? https://www.dropbox.com/s/uss0qgn6whvoftj/Screenshot%202017-03-27%2020.33.15.png?dl=0
    and https://www.dropbox.com/s/p86w997kutx44h0/Screenshot%202017-03-27%2020.30.37.png?dl=0

How can I add this to the sidebar without it going in the widgetised area and duplicating?

I am off to bed now but will try again tomorrow…

    Thanks again

Here is an example of the Face Paint box overriding the Bridal box (and where I am adding the code)…

    Danni468,

Can you contact me here through our Support Page and I’ll be happy to help you further. Just ask for David and once I receive your support request I can get you squared away by logging into your site for you and setting it up so you can see firsthand how to do it in the future. I don’t want to ask for site credentials through the public forum.

    Thank you.
