    Hi,

I am trying to set up a facebook pixel with Matomo Tag Manager in a test website with a self-hosted Matomo instance.
I use a set up that is exactly the same as the one I used in Google Tag Manager before : the pixel is triggered by a custom event cmplz_event_marketing.

It doesn’t work. Is there something different I should know ?

    Regards.
    Sybil

    Hello @sybilrondeau,

I visited your website, but this appears to function correctly. Without consent the Facebook Pixel isn’t loaded, and after consenting to Marketing, it loads immediately after.

I recorded a short video where you can see how it appears on my end: https://gyazo.com/f78b256b18cdb4ee149731077a32a93d

    Kind regards,

    Hi @sybilrondeau,

As the behavior still appears correct on our end, I’ll mark this as resolved for the time being.

But feel free to let me know if you have any further questions about Complianz, we’d be glad to help.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi again,

It works well the first time when visiting the website but if the user changes his mind the cookie stay in the browser. Is it a normal behavior ?

The user should be able to revoke his consent.

    Hi @sybilrondeau,

The current behavior on your website is correct: the Facebook Pixel will be blocked again when you revoke consent for the Marketing category.

If you additionally wish to remove a previously set cookie, such as the _fbp cookie, from the browser of your visitor when consent is revoked; you can use the CookieShredder feature that is available in Complianz.

Please refer to our earlier article describing how to use the CookieShredder feature: https://complianz.io/introducing-the-cookieshredder/

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
