I have attempted to install the Facebook Page Promoter Lightbox and it doesn’t work. It’s not an issue of it ‘loading’ per say, it simply doesn’t show up at all when it’s installed. I tried the install through the WordPress dashboard. Then I deleted the plugin and attempted to install it by adding the folder through FTP in the corresponding plugins folder.

I even tried to add the code straight into the blog with “Appearance -> Editor” by taking the code from a source of another site that uses it and inserting in the appropriate Facebook ID etc.

The blog I work with is https://www.glossandglam.com/blog . I can’t see much that it would conflict with on the page. If you check out the source code, as you can see the plugin doesn’t show up on the site even though it’s been installed and set up through the WordPress framework.

    Any ideas?

I can’t see the code at the front end being outputted. Are you using a multisite setup? It hasn’t been designed to work multisite. I see that you are also running w3 caching, please make sure to purge the cache after installing.

    Thanks for the quick response.

First, I deactivated the W3 Caching just now because I also had a hunch that that may be causing a problem. It didn’t fix it though.

As for “multi-site,” I don’t believe I’m using that. I was under the impression multisite would be if the blog was at blog.glossandglam.com as opposed to https://www.glossandglam.com/blog/ . I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it (following the W3 Caching deactiviation) and still nothing.

The plugin is in my FTP folder so it’s there, it’s just not outputting the code. Any other ideas?

So I installed the plugin by adding the code directly into my page with Appearance -> Editor. I got that working.

I tried to read up on it with the readme.txt file but didn’t find an answer to one question. What is the (“hideonlike”:””) option? Does that hide this from popping up when you’ve already liked the page? If not, is there a way to do that? Thanks!

When the user clicks the like button a cookie is made. People which have the cookie set will not see the lightbox. This is a premium option only. However, i cant recommend purchasing the premium version in your situtation, since you got it working via the editor.
