It doesn’t matter what image your site displays, it’s the image in the page’s OG tag that matters. Normally it’s the same as your page’s featured image, but it’s not required by the specification. Assuming a JPEG equivalent is available on your server, the OG tag merely needs to refer to the related JPEG file.

WP by default doesn’t add OG tags, it’s typically added by a SEO plugin. I recommend asking in your plugin’s dedicated support channel how you can alter what image is referenced in a page’s OG tags.

I am having similar problems as @mettichi and while I read @bcworkz comments with interest, I can’t get my head around why Meta can read 95% of our .webp images but with no correlation, we regularly need to upload jpg’s to commerce manager in order for the images to display.

If I know what it is that makes meta unable to “see” certain .webp I can fix it, but now I don’t know what the criteria are.

Our hosting package is stuffed as it is, so anything I can do to unload the burden is fine with me; the ability to upload (jpg) images directly to commerce manager works.

I really would like to understand WHY meta sends us these emails, letting me know that “3 items aren’t showing” in my shop.

    What is the pattern?
