After Facebook had their outage on 3/5, the Revive Old Posts plugin stopped working. I DID change my Facebook password when Facebook went down, and I am able to login into FB through Revive Old Posts, so I know it’s not a password issue.

Error logs in the plugin are showing this error:

[MARCH 7, 2024 4:07:03 AM] [ERROR] This error is a known one: You need to reconnect your Facebook account. Please copy and paste the following link in your browser to see the solution: https://is.gd/fix_fb_invalid_session

After trying to connect to Facebook via the Revive Old Posts dashboard, I get this error:

Preparing authorization…

No Facebook pages or groups were given authorization for posting. Please make sure you have higher access to a Facebook page or group. Please contact us here if you do not see your account added. Include a screenshot of this page in your support ticket.

I am the only owner of the page that I am trying to post to. I have the highest level of access there is to that page outside of someone at Facebook. I don’t know what “higher access” would be required to access that page.

I really like this plugin! Please fix it!

Hi @ucallrt,

Currently, Facebook users with Pages under a Business Suite Account are encountering difficulties adding the pages to the plugin. Our Products team is currently working to resolve this by ensuring compatibility with the latest Facebook changes about the Business Suite account.

In the meantime, you may consider the following workarounds:

• If feasible, try removing the pages from the Business Suite Account administration.
• Alternatively, you can use a secondary account that is set as a simple administrator for the page and is not connected to the Business Suite Account.

The key point to keep in mind is that the Facebook account and the desired pages should not be associated with the same Business Suite Account. The Facebook account should be a simple administrator for the page.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. We’re here to assist you.

Best regards,

Andreea

Plugin authors moved Facebook pages behind paywall now, that’s why it does not work anymore

No, that is not the case. I’m now running the pro version and am getting the same exact error.

Dear Support Team

same case here.

Actually, it is not possible to remove the page from Business Suite (there are ads running).

To be honest it is quite difficult to find a “secondary account” to use the other workaround you suggested.

I hope to fix this issue.

Best Regards

Hi @pontikis

To reconnect the page, please check all your pages in your facebook account through this link
https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=business_tools, remove the already added pages, and go to your WordPress dashboard to add the page again.

Hope it helps.
