you do not need to send your app to App Review as Nextend Social Login does not use user_link, user_gender, user_age_range, user_friends.

There are settings in the Pro Addon to store those fields too, so if you have Pro addon and use those settings, you will need App review. Storing of these fields are not enabled by default in the Pro Addon, so you will know when you use them.

In order to maintain your current API access, your app will need to be submitted for review by August 1, 2018. If your app is not submitted for review, you will lose access to these permissions and features.

The Facebook Platform APIs have been updated with these changes. Please review the FAQ to ensure you request the correct permissions and features with your app review submission.

If access to the permissions and features is approved, the app may need to be associated to a verified business to complete App Review.

Is this really true? I’ve logged into my FB Apps and I have an alert that I need to submit my app for review. It clearly shows user_friends is part of the login permissions, hence the need for the app review.
What do I need to do?
EDIT: I’m using the free version.

Yes, it is. Facebook’s official docs on the app review topic: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/
list social login plugins which only need name, email and profile picture from the users as exceptions. So these apps do not require app review.
The free version only accesses this information.

However, Facebook Login apps that also ask for a person’s birthday, location, hometown, gender, age range, or link to profile do need an app review.
Depending on the setup, the Pro Addon might use these settings, but if it does, the user know that as they need to enable the setting that asks it down.

Facebook can’t really tell what you are planning to do with the app you have set, so I’m pretty sure they displaying this message for every app.

OK. I went back to my app page and read the alert in more detail. It does seem like a general message, with the wording “If your app is not submitted for review, you will lose access to these permissions and features”. So if the app isn’t using these features, then it will be fine.
My concern was related to the App Review page which shows a list of “Approved Items”, which include email, public_profile, and user_friends. This is what concerned me a bit, but I’m guessing now that user_friends was probably a default permission given to all apps before the changes?
