facebook-like status update

  • Hi all

    I searched the extend/plug-ins section and this forum, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for (its of course possible that I used the wrong keyword set)

    OK, so this is what I’m looking for… I want a place in the admin panel where I can do a status update (exactly like facebook [admin is…]) that will of course reflect on the front-end of that site/blog.

    I don’t want to pull in my facebook or twitter status, I would much rather have this run on it’s own.

    Does anyone know of a plug-in that does this or something similar?

    Your help will be greatly appreciated ??

    There’s a few plugins around like that. Google found this one for me, no idea if it still works:

    I just pull in my Facebook status using an RSS widget.

    I just installed it on 2.5 and it works like a charm ??

    I will only have to tweak it slightly to do exactly what I want it to…

    Why don’t use something like twitter.com and a plugin from this site to show it in your sidebar and similar?

    This is for a blog that is going with my portfolio, my facebook and twitter is more personal and I don’t necessarily want those updates to display on my portfolio, but I still want to have that personal touch on the blog ??
