Hi. I use bitly to shorten links but I noticed in a few posts on Facebook, the link shows the bitly markup where the domain name and author should be (e.g. example.com | By ABC replaced by ‘bit.ly as shown here https://prntscr.com/q92jlp). Have you encountered this? I connected to Facebook using your app. Can this issue be rectified?

Hi there, we’ve identified a possible cause for this, but can you please provide a link to an article that had the issue?

Changed to is.gd and I share a lot of articles that it will be difficult to trace it again.

So does the issue happen with is.gd? We changed how we scrape the URL prior to sharing it on Facebook.

Can you also let us know if you had YoastSEO or any other SEO tool that adds opengraph tags on your website?

    No it doesn’t.

@politicske We changed the way we have Facebook scrape the links prior to sharing so this shouldn’t occur for Bit.ly anymore, the update is already released.

Let us know if you have any questions
