Hi, I am a recent convert of TSF coming from Yoast. However, I noticed that whenever a post is auto-shared (Jetpack publicize) or manually shared to Facebook, TSF is not giving out the custom social share image. Instead, it uses the featured image (which is different from the social share image).

Please do note that at the moment, the site is now using Yoast since it does not have this bug.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello!

Unfortunately, I do not know where to start looking for this issue. It could be a few dozen things: caching plugin, CloudFlare, TSF configuration, plugin/theme conflict (most likely), etc.

I noted plugin/theme conflict as most likely, because many of them look for Yoast SEO’s presence due to its sheer popularity, but they don’t look for TSF. When they don’t test for TSF’s presence, they might output extraneous Open Graph metadata, which might contain that unwanted featured image.

So, see if your theme or other plugins are trying to output Open Graph metadata. The toggle might be hidden somewhere obscure, and might even be hidden entirely with Yoast SEO active.

If you want me to take a look, having TSF enabled (if only briefly) would allow me to inspect the code and learn where it goes wrong. However, I’m confident that Jetpack’s Publicize isn’t conflicting with TSF–we tested that, and both Jetpack and TSF have code that prevent any conflicting output from each other.

    Hi Syber,

I quickly looked into my theme and noticed that there is an “Enable Opengraph” option baked right into the Customize section. I am happy to report after turning this off, FB’s debug tool picked up the right social share image.

Thanks for the help man. Now I am back tousing TSF. Btw, great plugin. It’s very lightweight. I can notice the speed difference, especially when using the admin panel.

Cheers! I’m glad you’ve found the culprit ??

And thank you! I think you’ll love TSF v4.1 (next update); it’ll be 12~96% faster in the admin area (depending on where you look), and up to 25% faster on the front-end!
